Scientific and technological knowledge development and their industrial applications in all aspects related to property field, mining projects management and operations pose challenges which require highly-prepared professionals' participation to take part in the generation or inter/transdisciplinary state-of-the-art knowledge transference in a competitive area. The Program has a multidisciplinary character and it is aimed at graduates from Engineering and/or Earth Sciences to contribute in their training, capable to realize and lead technological and scientific research; advise agencies, companies and international, state and private institutions, teach in higher education, playing an important role with a team of experts of other areas related to mining.
The graduates of the Program will have a professional guidance attending basic and advances courses applied to the mining activity, as its technological and scientific aspects as economy and management related-ones. Course are complemented with an individually thesis process which aims to perform critical analysis and come forward with a solution for an existing or new problem, where the student needs to demonstrate to have acquired an appropriate knowledge and development of abilities provided by this master.

Students wishing to apply for Master programs offered by the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, University of Chile must have a bachelor or a professional degree in a similar area, granted by a national or international university certifying a solid background in the specific area of the Master program. The Academic Committee of the program will review each application taking into account all the required background.
Applicants have to submit all their educational records at the moment of applying. Some of them are:
- Curriculum Vitae
- Application Form
- Transcript of records of the previous courses and their programs in case they come from other national or international universities.
- Bachelor's or professional diploma
- A letter of intention, and at least two letters of recommendation.
